The English Language Centre (Studium Intensywnej Nauki Języka Angielskiego) was set up in 1986 jointly by the University of Wrocław and the British Council and has, for twenty-eight years, provided tuition for staff of the University and other institutions of higher education including the Polish Academy of Sciences as well as postgraduate students. As early as 1991, in response to the growing demand, we opened up courses to the general public. Our main focus is on English for general purposes, though depending on demand we organise Business English courses.
All Centre teaching staff are qualified and experienced teachers of English. The Centre’s specific and intensive methods of teaching prepare students for various public examinations and allow them to develop fully conversational English.
